Web Design

Website Design Rates - $90 per first page (template design) / $50 ancillary pages

The cost of the first page (template) is to be paid at start of contract, and the remainder is due within 7 days of the site going live. When the site is paid in full you will be provided the “keys” (Username and password to the host)

The Computer Whisperer will provide a functioning website including template design, logo, text, and image implementation and layout.

The Computer Whisperer’s rate as listed above does not include domain name registration fees or hosting fees for the website once created. These are the responsibility of the customer the website is being designed for. While The Computer Whisperer does not provide hosting services personally, I can provide assistance in implementing hosting and DNS registration and am happy to facilitate both.

The Computer Whisperer will provide the “keys” (Username and password to the hosting space) to the customer in order for them to make their own updates and changes in the future. I can give basic instruction by way of a Word document; however more extensive training is available at my usual hourly rate. I am happy to make “simple updates” to content for a period of two months from the website’s “go live” date as a courtesy.

I cannot make use of advanced website technologies for base rate websites, such as shopping carts, flash or complex animations. The website will consist of unlimited text, simple forms, images, and in some cases embedded video, only. For more complex needs, call and I can work with you for a custom action plan.

Once I have created your website, there are two things that you will need in order for people to view your website: Website Hosting and a Domain Name. This is a payment you will need to make on an ongoing basis to a hosting company, and not to me. I can help you set this up. You should budget about $150-180 a year for this service.

The domain name is the “www.” address that people will type in to their web browser in order to access your website. This “www.” needs to be created and then registered so that no one else can use it.

Website Hosting is a service which stores the pages of your website on a computer (called the Host) that is always on and always connected to the internet. People’s ability to reach your website and view it is not only based on their own computer’s connection but the connection of the Host Computer as well. Good hosting companies will offer an “uptime” guarantee. Your Host has a reliable, fast connection to the internet so that visitors to your website can always access the pages of your website.

The Computer Whisperer looks forward to working to create your online presence.
